The two-day Hungarian-Croatian Music Festival, handcraft exhibition and fair in Lenti started as a part the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Cooperation Program, Cross-Cultural Tool-Kit project. The festival was opened by Dražen Srpak, Mayor of Mursko Središće and László Horváth the Mayor of Lenti and greeted the artists, manufacturers and participants of the event at the City Cultural Center.
The visitors can see the works of Muraköz Orphanage from Mursko Središće, works of Erzsébet Tóth, Józsefné Hóbor, Rezső Csótár, Katalin M. Nagy, Ernő Cselenkó, pieces of the Association of Disabled and People living with disabilities from Egervár, works provided by the Kolping Center for Support and Employment.
Craftsmen offered their products in the event, the Boglya Folk Music Ensemble had a performance, entertaining the audience with Hungarian folk music and then the Koprive tambourine band performed songs and a selection of Croatian music from Szentpeterfa.
The festival continued from 3 pm on Saturday, children were greeted by fun crafts at several places, and Andreas Horváth gave a concert on the stage, followed by the music of the Croatian band Ivana Galic and SoulBeat when the visitors could hear famous soul, funk and blues songs mixed with afro and jazz elements.
They were followed by the youth string orchestra of the Béla Bartók Music School from Szombathely, and the program of modern competition dances by the Celtic Dream Irish Step Dance Group from Kent, where those interested in Irish step dance were also welcomed for a dance. The last night of the festival was reserved for the concert of the Croatian Scifidelity Orchestra with an international reputation, spiced with the folk music of all the dialects of our country.
