Online opening conference

The online opening conference of the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Cooperation Program - Cross-Cultural Tool-Kit project was held on 12th April, 2021. The conference was attended by the representatives of cooperating partners, members of the cultural sector, representatives of institutions, NGOs, associations and local artisans.

The Municipality of the City of Lenti submitted a tender within the framework of the Interreg VA Hungary-Croatia Cooperation Program 2014-2020 “Jointly development of new, innovative joined structures and shared processes to ensure the continuity of co-operation in the field of Culture and Tourism in the cross-regions ” (to ensure the continuation of cooperation in culture and tourism in the border region through newly developed innovative structures and processes). The Cross-Cultural Tool-Kit, code number: HUHR / 1901 / 3.1.2 / 0159, started on 1st October, 2020 and has an implementation period of 20 months. The total budget of the project is € 199,240, out of which € 169,354 is EU funding.

The project is developed between the Municipality of Lenti (the lead beneficiary) and Mursko Središće (Croatia) ss the beneficiary. The aim of the partnership is to ensure and support coordinated communication processes, to establish common strategy in tourism, promotion of tourism, plan of communication, cultural events and the developed ‘toolbox’ ensuring in this way the continuous cooperation and communication between people and different sectors, interest groups, NGOs. The beneficiaries shall strive for a longterm effective and sustainable partnership between the cultural communities in the border area. To do this, a strategy and a so-called a cultural toolkit will be developed, which will include the development of a common competency map, database, common design, the appearance of promotional products and videos, and the organisation of various events.

The commitments include the organisation of market research, an opening conference on the Hungarian side and the organisation of two workshops about the development of cultural strategy and the development of tools for culture and tourism. During the project, a total of 11 large-scale thematic events will be organised between the partners, where representatives of the cultural sphere, NGOs, associations, artisans and artists can exhibit their products and present their services to facilitate interaction, networking and longterm cooperation within and across sectors between the stakeholders in culture and tourism. The Municipality of Lenti undertook to organise 6 large-scale thematic events during the project. The programs include traditionally organised programs, but new events also provide an opportunity to create new traditions. According to participating partners, the cooperation will help to maintain the cultural heritage of the region, to introduce new, innovative cultural programs, and thus to help these two regions to become more attractive.
