On Saturday, April 23, 2022, within the framework of the Cross-Cultural Tool-Kit project of the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Cooperation Program, the Dance Festival was held, which is already a traditional event in the city. This year this event was supported by St. George's Day tourist and craft fair.
The opening of the event took place at 09:30, the program was opened by László Horváth, Mayor of Lenti. Gréta Horváth-Herman was responsible for the conference. The event was opened by László Horváth, Mayor of Lenti and Dražen Srpak, Mayor of Muraszerdahely.
After the opening ceremony, the dance competition began, where 482 dancers from 18 dance groups presented 143 choreographies. The dancers came from different places from Hungary and Croatia (Lenti, Rezi, Zalaegerszeg, Zalaszentgyörgy, Alsópáhok, Zalaszentgrót, Tapolca, Keszthely, Nagykanizsa, Veszprém, Csabrendek, Szombathely, Körmend, Pécs, Muraszerdahely in Croatia).
During the day, there were two announcements of the results, one for the morning show and one for the afternoon performances. The title of Champion of the Lenti Dance Festival was awarded to the FootNotes Dancegroup from Veszprém being the most creative. The jury awarded special prizes to the following dance groups: Udruga majoretkinja Murskog Središća from Muraszerdahely, Croatia, Westside TSE from Szombathely and Royal Dance Studio SE from Zalaegerszeg. Izabella Göde, a dancer from FootNotes Dance Company, received a special performer award.
The City of Lenti was represented by the Step Up dance group, who obtained a silver medal, and the Kelta Álom Irish Step Dance Group, who achieved 3 first places, 1 gold medal and 2 second places.
Before the 1st results announcement, a live Lenti inscription created by dancers and spectators was recorded by drone, which was followed by an all-out dance with the participation of approximately 300 people with the choreography presented by Fanni Deák, which was a huge success. The event was closed after the second results announcement.
The fair, consisting of the products of local producers and manufacturers, started at 09:00 on the Event place. A total of 14 vendors and three tourist offices participated in the fair during the event. Csaba Horváth (Gölöncsér Bt.) with pottery products, Adrienn Fábián Kiss with plasticine jewelry, the Croatian Kristos with home-made hot sauces, the glass painter Jenőné Micskó with handcraft products, the Kolping Disabled Day Institute (FONI) below with handcraft products, Zília Szabó with jewelry made of peat beads, Zsuzsanna Takács with napkin techniques made souvenirs, Dombon túl homemade pasta, Croatian OPG SARAC with homemade sauces and jams, Tamás Varga with pottery products, Gyula Léránt with boiled pearls, Róbert Ferenczi with fig products, the Pataki Family with honey, jam and syrups, and Józsefné Hóbor with handmade textile figurines attracted visitors. A pipe baker also sold his pastries in the courtyard, and Annamária Dancs offered roast meats, sausages and one-course meals. Among the tourist service providers, the Tourinform Lenti information point, the Moravske Toplice tourist information point and the Muraszerdahely tourist office shared tourist publications and brochures.
At Event place, a photo corner expected visitors, where they could capture the moments of the event with the help of funny accessories.
