Cooperation in Culture and Tourism in Border Region

The Municipality of the City of Lenti submitted a tender within the framework of the Interreg VA Hungary-Croatia Cooperation Program 2014-2020 “Joint development of new, innovative joined structures and shared processes to ensure the continuity of co-operation in the field of Culture and Tourism in the cross-regions”. The Cross-Cultural Tool-Kit, code number: HUHR / 1901 / 3.1.2 / 0159, started on 1st October, 2020 and has an implementation period of 20 months. The total budget of the project is € 199,240, out of which € 169,354 is from EU funding.

The municipalities of the Hungarian Lenti and the Croatian Mursko Središće strive to develop a longterm, effective and sustainable partnership between the cultural communities of the border region. In order to do this, the parties will develop a strategy and a so-called a cultural toolbox will be developed.

The commitments include market research, an opening conference and cultural strategy building on the Hungarian side. During the project, a total of 11 large-scale thematic events will be organized between the partners, where representatives of the cultural sphere, NGOs, associations, artisans and artists can exhibit their products and present their services to facilitate interaction, networking and long-term cooperation within and across sectors between actors in the cultural and tourism sector.
